Pike fishing competition on Eonish Lake

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Last Sunday, the April Pike Fishing competition was held on Eonish Lake. It was a great success and enjoyed by all. There was a good turn out of boats and the fishing was better than earlier in the year.  A total of 30 fish were caught and returned on the day with the winner catching five fish weighing 33.5lbs.

The event was organised by the Killeshandra Angling Club. The final competition for the season will be held on 10th May at Garadice Lake. This is another great local lake in the neighbouring county of Leitrim. It is 15mins drive from Island House.
